The Summer Games will look a lot different this year. When Simone Biles, Katie Ledecky, Allyson Felix, Simone Manuel and other Olympians arrive in Tokyo next month, they’ll be competing in venues that will allow only up to 10,000 local fans — with a “no-spectator games” option still within the realm of possibility.
So ahead of the Olympics, which start on July 23, scores of young women and girls have taken to the stands at Olympic trials in the United States to cheer on their favorite athletes. We compiled a few of those moments:
