Kids deserve to see themselves represented in books. Here’s how it benefits everyone.

The majority of my favorite books from my childhood are overwhelmingly white. More people of color are getting their books published and are being represented in books by all authors, but those books are still the minority. It’s so important for children to see themselves represented in media, and for white children to experience diversity at an early age. What better place to do this than books?
