I’m starting my journey as a foster parent. It’s the most important job I'll ever have.

It’s starting to feel real

As we get closer to being handed our foster parent license, it’s starting to feel real. I get to pick out crib sheets, hang some artwork and buy too many soft blankets at target. It’s felt like a very long process, but (ironically) when we enter into the next step of child placement it will have been about nine months since we attended our first informational meeting. There are so many reasons to foster, and although it’s sad by its very nature, it’s a way to give back to your community in a very real, life changing way.
