I’ve long had a phobia of speaking on the telephone, partly because I dislike not being able to see the person on the other end. So theoretically, video calls should be less nerve-wracking. As it turns out, I still struggle with social phobia even when I can see the other person (or, even worse, multiple people). I suppose I’m just as likely to fear being judged or embarrassing myself in front of others, but now with the added bonus of visuals.
