My 9-year-old niece recently proudly showed me the one hair she had grown in her armpit: She sees me as a adult woman who has agency over her body, so she does too. As a kid growing up in the ’90s, I didn’t have anyone like that. In this comic I explore the various things we put ourselves through (Nair, at-home waxing, bleaching etc.) and how I’ve come to terms with (some of) my hair.
