At the United State of Women summit in Los Angeles, Patrisse Cullers and Marley Dias sat down for a discussion on their roles as activists.

Patrisse Cullors is an artist and activist known for her role as the co-founder of the Black Lives Matter movement. Marley Dias is a 13-year-old girl who started the #1000BlackGirlBooks in 2015 to bring attention to books that spotlight black female protagonists.

In the video below, the women discuss parental affirmations, challenges to their identities and how they felt watching “Black Panther.”
